Say ''NO'' to Plastic Bags

Image
The recent initiative to start the ‘’Plastic Bags se Azadi’’ the campaign is a laudable move. Though it might not help indirectly reducing global warming but help in reducing land pollution and protecting plants and animals in the country. The initiative is being carried out across the country with a special focus on the federal capital. In my opinion, the campaign should have started from Karachi, which suffers the most from acute soil pollution. The public’s reaction to the campaign is mixed. While some citizens have appreciated it, other quarters are criticizing the action, especially small businesses like food stalls and milk shops. Not everyone carries steel containers to buy milk and many others cannot afford to purchase the more expensive packaged milk.  One prays the move to remove the plastic bags from our lives meet with success.

Amazon Forest is on Fire

Eco goals Concerns about Amazon Forests The news sparkling around is Amazon forest is burning up at an alarming rate. The Satellite images published by NASA is showing the devastating fires in the Amazon between the borders of Paraguay and Brazil and is totally destroying it.  These images just found out after a week when the director of Brazil’s National Space Research Institute (INPE) dismissed order released by Jair government in the midst of a controversy over its satellite data. The images showed a devastating rise in Amazon deforestation, which the far-right government vehemently denied and dismissed as “lies” and didn’t listen to it. It is yet unclear whether the current fires were set intentionally by human activity or whether they are a consequence of rising temperatures by global warming and humidity.
